Creating Moments That Lead to Movements
What an incredible couple of months! From amplifying hope through recovery events across Indiana to launching a brand-new initiative, celebrating new life, and preparing to gather with disciple-making leaders from around the world, we've had plenty of reasons to celebrate.
Here are a few highlights of what God has been doing through the Two Eight community!
Amplifying Hope
Celebrating National Recovery Month
September was National Recovery Month, and Two Eight had the privilege of helping amplify hope at recovery events across Indiana!
We partnered with Safe Haven at multiple community events around the state and joined Thrive for their annual Dope to Hope event in southern Indiana.
These gatherings are about so much more than music and events. They're opportunities to celebrate lives being transformed, connect people to recovery resources, and remind individuals and families impacted by addiction that hope is real, recovery is possible, and nobody has to walk alone.
We're grateful for the incredible organizations, churches, recovery leaders, and volunteers who continue showing up to bring hope to their communities.
Multiplying Impact
Introducing Embrace to Empower!
We're excited to officially announce the launch of Embrace to Empower, the newest initiative of Two Eight Ministries!
Led by Amber O'Brien and Michelle McCullum, Embrace to Empower exists to embrace and empower members of the disability community to become the leaders and world changers they were created to be.
Through community events, awareness initiatives, leadership development, and training, we're working to create spaces where people of all abilities are seen, valued, equipped, and empowered to lead.
In September, Embrace to Empower hosted its first event, bringing together local churches and featuring powerful voices from the disability community. Individuals shared their lived experiences, challenged assumptions, and inspired the Church to better recognize, embrace, and respond to the needs and gifts of this often-overlooked community.
We believe everyone has a purpose, everyone has something to contribute, and everyone deserves the opportunity to lead.
We're excited to see how this new initiative continues to grow!
Mobilizing Disciples
The Underground Jesus Conference
November 4–5, Two Eight had the privilege of leading worship at the Underground Jesus Conference at Mercy Road Church in Carmel, Indiana!
This unique gathering brought together faith leaders from around the world who are witnessing extraordinary movements of disciples making disciples and churches multiplying churches.
These Disciple Making Movements (DMMs) and Church Planting Movements (CPMs) are powerful reminders that the Great Commission isn't just a calling for professional ministry leaders. It's an invitation for ordinary people everywhere to follow Jesus and help others do the same.
We're honored to help create an atmosphere of worship and encouragement as these leaders share stories, lessons, and challenges from the front lines of global disciple-making.
Our prayer is that what happens in these two days will inspire movements of discipleship far beyond the walls of the conference.
A Little Personal News
Welcome to the Two Eight Family, Jesse Brian!
On September 21, Eric and Jillian Maitlen welcomed their first child, Jesse Brian Maitlen, into the world! 💙
Jesse's arrival came a little earlier than expected, and his first couple of weeks included an unexpected stay in the NICU. Thankfully, after 15 days of care, lots of prayers, and the incredible support of family and friends, Jesse was able to come home!
Eric and Jillian are incredibly grateful for everyone who has prayed, encouraged, and supported them as they navigate the beautiful, exhausting, and joy-filled adventure of becoming first-time parents.
And yes, Jesse is already being recruited as Two Eight's youngest team member! 😉
And Finally -
THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THE STORY!
Whether you've prayed for us, volunteered at an event, supported us financially, or simply shared what we're doing with someone else, you are part of the story God is writing through Two Eight Ministries.
Every event, every relationship, and every opportunity to encourage someone toward hope and purpose is made possible by people like you. We're grateful to be on this journey together!
Let's keep creating moments that lead to movements!
