Summer (BIG!) Update
Vision Night Event!
On August 27th, join us for an evening to hear powerful stories from the field, discover where God is leading Two Eight Ministries, and learn how you can partner with us to amplify hope, multiply impact, and mobilize people!
This event is FREE but we only have 70 tickets available so be sure secure seats for you and your guests soon.
In addition to sharing about our work, we’ll introduce some incredible new leaders who are helping us step into the next chapter of our mission. We’re incredibly grateful for the people God continues to bring alongside this mission.
You can go to our website or the Vision Night Registration page to sign up - we’d love to see you!
What does it look like to love your city well?
Sometimes, it looks like a hot summer day, a pair of new shoes, a meal shared with a family, or a song that reminds someone they are seen and loved.
This July, we had the privilege of partnering with Humble Love, an Indianapolis ministry committed to serving “anyone who needs food.”
Through their work, Humble Love has already provided more than 78,000 meals to over 27,000 families, making a tangible difference throughout the South side of Indianapolis.
For the third year, Humble Love hosted Seed the City—an incredible back-to-school event where more than 7,000 pairs of Nike shoes were given to students and families preparing for the school year ahead.
But this year, they wanted to do even more. As the sun went down, the celebration continued with a concert featuring CCM artist Leanna Crawford. We were honored to come alongside Humble Love by helping lead worship and providing technical production support, including our LED video screen that helped create the environment for the evening.
It was a long, hot day—but it was also a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.
Because behind every number is a person.
Behind every pair of shoes is a student heading into a new school year.
Behind every meal is a family being reminded that their community cares about them.
And behind every song is an opportunity to create a moment of hope.
We’re grateful that our gifts, equipment, and team could play a small part in helping Humble Love seed hope throughout our city. This is what it means to us to Amplify Hope—to use what we have to help others bring the love of Jesus into the places where it is needed most.
Last, but certainly not least…
As we mentioned above, at our Vision Night on August 27, we’ll introduce some incredible new leaders who are helping us step into the next chapter of our mission.
But there’s one more new team member we’re especially excited to introduce… although he may need a few years before he’s ready to help with an event.
Our founders, Eric and Jillian Maitlen, are expecting a baby boy this fall!
Jesse Brian Maitlen is due October 4, and the Maitlen family is counting down the days until they get to meet him! Please keep Eric, Jillian, and baby Jesse in your prayers as they prepare to welcome him into the world.
We can’t wait to meet the newest—and definitely the youngest—member of the Two Eight family.
And finally…
This season feels like a beautiful reminder that growth isn’t just about bigger programs, more events, or reaching more people. It’s about people, relationships, family, and new life—and there seems to be a lot of all four happening around Two Eight right now.
None of our work is possible without you, and we’re deeply grateful for your partnership!
