Poland, Summer Recap, AND FALL events
Light Up Europe Conference
Late in July, the Two Eight Executive Team (Eric Maitlen, Scott Naylor and Amber O’Brien) went to Krakow, Poland to be part of the Light Up Europe conference! Hosted by the DNA Movement, the international gathering was focused on training disciple makers and equipping the next generation of their movement’s leadership.
We’d been invited to join their conference to deliver teaching content in their breakout sessions on living a life of personal worship and leading musical worship
Other than new connections and friendships, a big take-away was seeing how a disciple-making movement thrives and stays healthy in a part of the world where the evangelical church is not the most prominent expression of Christianity. The DNA movement primarily equips disciple-makers and plants house-churches, not buildings. We met a LOT of people (the conference was attended by over 500 people from 25 different countries), built some great relationships and of course, shot a LOT of video footage! Documenting disciple-making movements is a passion of ours, and we may find ways to tell their story in future projects.
Empowering Recovery Efforts
In August, we finished up the 2025 Summer of Recovery Tour, with our final festival event in the city of Jasper, Indiana. We partnered with Indiana’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction for the tour.
In 2022, our team built the Summer of Recovery Tour to connect Hoosier families with recovery resources through music festivals held in key parts of the state that needed the most support. Over the last 4 years this tour has taken us to Gary, Valparaiso, Anderson, Evansville, Muncie, Portland, Lebanon, Bloomington, Columbus, Rensselaer, Kendallville, Jasper, Noblesville, Connersville, Auburn, New Albany, Orleans, New Castle, Kokomo, and multiple venues in Indianapolis.
These festivals were a lot of fun (and a lot of WORK!), and they helped thousands of families connect with local recovery communities and resources.
On September 5th, we helped kick off National Recovery Month on monument circle in downtown Indianapolis with the Indiana Recovery Network and Mental Health America of Indiana. Here’s some video we produced from that event. During the months of September and October, Two Eight will be partnering with other local organizations to help them amplify hope through event production, music and media as well.
The Indiana Recovery + Faith Conference
On October 9th and 10th, we will help host and produce the 2nd Annual Indiana Recovery + Faith Conference at Mercy Road Church in Carmel! The event, which Two Eight co-founded, is an annual statewide gathering designed to bridge both faith and secular recovery communities in the shared mission of addressing substance use and mental health disorders. We’re excited to see how the momentum builds as we host the event’s second year!
