For more than 20 years, this gathering has been part of our story, and each year it continues to breathe fresh life into our team. This year, we came alongside them to provide full technical production—lighting, sound, projection, and graphics—as well as leading worship. In close collaboration with their leadership, we helped shape conference sessions where worship wasn’t just a moment, but a meaningful thread woven throughout the entire experience. The result was something truly special: spaces where students could slow down, lean in, and encounter God in a real and personal way. And the impact was undeniable. Twenty percent of the students in attendance made the decision to put their faith in Jesus. Even more encouraging, the majority of students took a next step in their faith journey. Some chose to trust Jesus more deeply as Lord. Others stepped forward into leadership, ready to influence their communities with courage and conviction. Again and again, we saw God meet students right where they were—and watched as they responded with open hearts. This is why we keep showing up. It also happens on the platform. This year, we intentionally placed some of our youngest team members—leaders in their mid-20s—at the forefront. Annabelle Fiore and Naya Cedeno led with both passion and humility, guiding worship in English and Spanish and helping create a space where everyone felt seen and invited in. Investing in young leaders like them is close to our heart. This movement centers on the teachings of Jesus and emphasizes practical, everyday ways to live them out. While there, the team witnessed powerful expressions of faith in action, including service to the poor, advocacy for the oppressed, literacy education for both children and adults, occupational training, care for the sick, and many other outward demonstrations of the Gospel at work in communities. Their signature event, the Dope to Hope Show , is a powerful celebration of transformation and recovery. The show features members of the community who are in active recovery, modeling their journey through two symbolic segments. In the “Dark” segment, participants walk the runway as their “former selves,” representing the struggles of active addiction. September is National Recovery Month, and our team is back on the road bringing awareness, resources and hope to communities across Indiana. We saw over 1000 people in attendance at this year’s Recovery Rocks event in Ft. Wayne. With speakers, testimonies and music, the event empowered families from all over northeast Indiana who have been affected by overdose and substance abuse. We celebrated those walking in recovery and mourned the loss of loved ones and friends who did not survive their battle against addiction. This is the 3rd time Two Eight has partnered with Jen Hope, founder of The Mom of an Addict, who hosts this event for her community each year. Our team provided staging, audio and video production, and even a little live music for their event, which helped them raise the funds it takes for them to continue to bring resources to their region of southern Indiana. Brittany Stout (Safe Haven’s founder), has told us on a number of occasions that if her brother (who was lost to a fatal fentanyl poisoning) had access to the kind of events and resources we help them produce, that he might have made it. During the event, there was a butterfly release to commemorate those they had lost.
